RusHydro launches first chain of EV charging stations in the Russian Far East
September 3, 2019. Vladivostok, Russia. PJSC RusHydro (ticker symbol: MOEX, LSE: HYDR; OTCQX: RSHYY) announces inauguration of ten charging stations for electric vehicles (EV) in cities of Vladivostok, Ussuriysk and Artyom. The project was launched after market research confirmed high demand for electric charging stations in Primorsky Krai, the region, where one third of the entire Russian fleet of electric vehicles is concentrated.
Until now, despite rapid growth of electric vehicles in the region, only three charging stations were operational in the entire Primorsky Krai, none of them allowing for fast charging. EV owners had to charge their electric vehicles via AC outlets, often in violation of safety rules. RusHydro-operated stations have the advantage of supporting fast charging regime, providing for battery top-up in just a few minutes and a full charge in less than 30 minutes. The stations also support a range of charging connectors, including: Japanese standard (DC) 50 kW, European standard (DC) 50 kW, connector Type 1/Type 2 (AC), 22 kW.
Nikolay Shulginov, Chairman of the Management Board – General Director of RusHydro, commented: “Owners of electric cars have been looking forward to this event already for several years. Now they can charge their vehicles conveniently, quickly and safely. This is a new type of service for RusHydro. We keep up with trends and are always ready to develop new high-tech lines of business and contribute to implementation of the government policy aimed at advanced development of the Far East”.
