Boguchanskaya hydropower plant launches eighth hydropower unit
JSC RusHydro (ticker symbol: MOEX, LSE: HYDR; OTCQX: RSHYY) announces that the eighth hydropower unit was commissioned and put into commercial operation at the Boguchanskaya hydropower plant (a 50/50 JV of RusHydro and UC RUSAL).
Total installed capacity of all units in operation by end of December is 1,998 MW, working capacity accounting for lower reservoir level is 1,362 MW.
The first seven 333 MW hydropower units of the Boguchanskaya HPP were put into operation during 2012-2013. Preparation of the last ninth unit of the plant for testing is currently underway. During January-November 2013 the plant has supplied 4,367GWh to the wholesale electricity and capacity market, including 616 GWh in November. 2013.
Construction of the Boguchanskaya HPP was resumed in May 2006 after RusHydro and UC RUSAL had signed an agreement on the joint development of the Boguchanskoye Energy and Metals Complex (BEMO) comprising the Boguchanskaya HPP with average multi-year generation is 17,6 GWh and aluminum smelter with capacity of 600 tons of metals per annum
