On the eve of the professional holiday honouring energy industry workers, Nikolai Zaikin, head of Chaikovsky District, personally delivered a formal letter of gratitude to Alexei Byakov, Director of the JSC RusHydro branch Votkinskaya HPP, thanking the organization for its support of environmental enlightenment and education in the district.
The presentation took place at the Young Naturalists' Chaikovsky Station. After an excursion around the YN minizoo, conducted by the station's staff, Zaikin gave the thank-you letter, signed by Lyudmila Kharun, Director of the Environmental Protection Agency under the Perm Territory Ministry of Urban Planning and Development, to Director Byakov.
The letter states: "We express our thanks and deep gratitude for the support given to the city's Young Naturalists' station in holding ecology events, and for your assistance in rebuilding the minizoo premises and helping to create among the young inhabitants of the Kama area a sense of responsibility and love for the ecology and natural beauty of their home district."
Branch director Alexei Byakov and Public Relations officer Sergei Makarov were also recognized in letters of gratitude from the head of Chaikovsky Municipal District.
The event closed with the young ecologists who participated in last summer's rafting trip presenting an award of their own - a painting of the Kama area expanses - to the hydropower plant's workers. The directors and members of the Alice children's research club were able to organize the trip thanks to RusHydro's long-term charitable program "Sail of Hope."
