RusHydro dams Bureya river to complete the construction of Nizhne-Bureyskaya hydropower plant in the Far East

PJSC RusHydro (ticker symbol: MOEX, LSE: HYDR; OTCQX: RSHYY) announces that the Bureya river in the Amur region has been dammed up and the river now flows through the Nizhne-Bureyskaya hydropower plant.

The river damming allows to complete the construction of the main retaining structures of the plant. The length of the ground dam is 400 m, full height – 41.5 m.

The concrete structures of the Nizhne-Bureyskaya HPP are 90% ready. Two hydropower units manufactured by Power Machines are being installed in the turbine room.

The Nizhne-Bureyskaya HPP, counter-regulator for the Bureyskaya HPP, is the second plant of the Bureya Hydropower Complex in the Amur Region. The project capacity of the Nizhne-Bureyskaya HPP is 320 MW (four hydro units); average annual output will be 1,650 GW. The plant’s construction has started in 2010; it is one of priority projects of RusHydro’s investment program.
