RusHydro donates RUB 100 mn to combat coronavirus infection
April 6, Moscow, Russia. PJSC RusHydro (ticker symbol: MOEX, LSE: HYDR; OTCQX: RSHYY) announces that the Company will donate RUB 100 mn to its regions of presence to purchase medical equipment, means of individual protection, medical supplies and organize activities to help stop the spread of coronavirus infection.
The Board of Directors approved this decision at the meeting held in absentia on April 3, 2020. The Board of Directors approved the Group’s updated Charity and Sponsorship program for 2020. The update includes allocating additional RUB 50 mn to the regions in the Far Eastern Federal District and RUB 50 mn to PJSC RusHydro’s regions of presence in the European part of Russian and Siberia. PJSC RusHydro is currently making all reasonable efforts to locate and purchase artificial lung ventilation devices for treatment of patients diagnosed with the coronavirus infection in its regions of presence.
Alongside with allocating funds to fight the coronavirus, PJSC RusHydro accelerated execution of the previously approved charity and sponsorship program to provide financial aid to charity organizations, medical facilities and social institutions in 28 regions of presence.
RusHydro is closely monitoring uninterrupted electricity supply to medical facilities and pharmacies as well as availability of mobile communication and internet connection for the population, call-centers, major logistics centers and commercial organizations in the Group’s regions of presence. Starting April 1, 2020 RusHydro’s electricity and heat supplying companies will not penalize consumers for late payments.
Taking into account the necessity of uninterrupted electricity and heat production to the population, social and commercial infrastructure, RusHydro has taken all possible measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus at its facilities. Emergency response teams constantly monitoring the epidemic status and cooperating with the sanitary epidemiological authorities are in place at the company’s head office, subsidiaries and affiliated organizations.
Over 80% of head office employees are working remotely. The personnel employed at the operating facilities is working on rotating shifts in the event of coronavirus outbreak among the employees. Their schedules are optimized to avoid crossing with one another. All employees are provided with safety means and temperature is measured regularly. Workplaces are treated daily with disinfectants, air conditioning and ventilation systems are disabled as well.
In the event of tightening measures aimed at contracting the infection, RusHydro Group’s facilities are working out an action plan of complete self-sufficient isolation of its operating personnel without any communication from external environment.
