RusHydro launches first EV charging station in Kamchatka in the Far East
December 22, 2020, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Russia. PJSC RusHydro (ticker symbol: MOEX, LSE: HYDR; OTCQX: RSHYY) announces inauguration of the first EV charging station in Kamchatka. It is located near the multi-functional information and payment center in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy. Victor Khmarin, acting Chairman of the Management Board – General Director of RusHydro inaugurated the EV station in the form of videoconference.
“Being the largest power company in the Far East, RusHydro is interested in developing EV charging network in the district. Electric vehicles is a rapidly expanding sector of power consumption and availability of charging stations only further contributes to its development. With sufficient experience of launching and operating EV stations in the Far East, we will expand the network going forward and cover the regions where we are not yet present”, - added Victor Khmarin.
Battery top-up at RusHydro’s station takes a matter of minutes while full charge reuires less than half an hour. The station supports a range of charging connectors including Japanese and European. As in other regions, the charging station in Kamchatka is equipped with standalone heaters allowing uninterrupted operation at temperatures up to -35 degrees.
RusHydro has developed a separate website (charge.rushydro.ru) where its EV charging stations’ clients can get additional information on the project itself, instructions on vehicle charging, rates, FAQs and other important information. For convenience purposes, clients can also join a group via Telegram and WhatsApp to get additional information.
Since the inception of the Program for development of EV transportation and charging infrastructure, the company has brought online 19 fast EV charging stations in the Far Eastern Federal District. The network of stations encompasses Primorskiy Krai, Khabarovsk Krai, Kamchatka, Amur and Sakhalin regions. RusHydro places significant importance on development of clean environmentally friendly form of transportation. In 2021, the company is looking to commission over 30 more stations in the Far East and in the medium-term have EV stations present throughout the entire Vladivostok-Moscow major highway.
