RusHydro strategy calls for, among other lines of business, development of energy retail- provision of reliable supply of energy and high quality related services to broad customer base. ESC RusHydro ( JSC Energy Supply Company of Rushydro) acts as center of competence in the energy retail sector within RusHydro group. On July 1, 2011 ESC RusHydro was admitted for participation in wholesale market of energy and capacity allowing it to begin actively expanding customer base as an independent energy retail company. In addition, ESC RusHydro holds controlling stakes in JSC Krasnoyarkenergosbyt, JSC Ryazan Power Distributing Company and JSC Chuvashenergosbyt and is the sole owner of LLC Energy Retail Company of Bashkortostan, all of which are guarantee suppliers in their respective regions of presence.
Participation in integrated regional development projects is also a part of ESC RusHydro core activity. In close cooperation with local authorities ESC RusHydro is developing and introducing solutions in the sphere of energy efficiency as well as modernization and management of municipal housing sector and water supply facilities in a number of regions of Russia.
Thus, a pilot project of automated module boiler has been implemented in Bashkortostan Republic already.
It is worth noticing that significant part of JSC Krasnoyarkenergosbyt customer base is represented by municipal housing sector.
ESC RusHydro has entered agreement with Republic of Bashkortostan aimed at cooperation in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency, including through implementation of joint projects, raising investments and manufacturing of innovative equipment. In particular, the agreement provides for establishment of a Technopark - a platform for accumulation of practical competence in the field of energy efficiency. Among other activities, manufacturing of hydropower equipment (turbines and generators) with unit capacity up to 150 MW under the aegis of joint venture between RusHydro and Alstom will be located in the Technopark. In 2011 joint venture RusHydro Bashkortostan Energy Efficiency was formed as organizational vehicle for cooperation between the Company and the Republic.
