Education

The support of education is one of the priorities of social responsibility of the RusHydro Group. The company implements a wide range of educational projects as part of its charitable assistance program.

Every year federal and regional higher educational institutions, primarily specialized institutions, receive financial support. Among them are:

The long-term program of cooperation with universities makes it possible to purchase laboratory equipment for scientific, applied research and development in the interests of the RusHydro Group; to hold introductory and production practices at RusHydro enterprises; to ensure the operation of the Institute of Hydropower and Renewable Energy at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute and the RES Scientific and Educational Center at the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University; to implement and improve educational programs of higher education institutions; participate in the WorldSkills professional skills program.

One of the large-scale educational projects of RusHydro is the federal contest of student projects in the field of energy and RES "Energy of Development". The purpose of the contest is to stimulate the interest of students and postgraduates of technical universities to engineering professions in general and to the energy industry in particular, to identify and motivate talented youth studying in specialized universities, to promote RusHydro brand as a responsible employer.

Students and postgraduates of Russian technical universities take part in the contest. The contest is held in two directions: academic papers and project solutions. The topics of the academic papers reflect the main fields of modern power engineering. Project topics are formed on the basis of current tasks and directions of RusHydro company development.

Besides, the assistance of RusHydro is regularly provided to pre-school and additional education institutions, general education schools and specialized gymnasiums. Thanks to the financial assistance of the company the educational institutions carry out repairs, purchase necessary equipment and materials, office equipment, furniture and hold educational events.
