Heat generation

RusHydro's heat generation assets are mainly concentrated in the Far East. They include more than 30 thermal power plants, more than 270 diesel power plants and more than 230 boiler houses. Their total electrical capacity is more than 7,000 MW, heating capacity is more than 18,500 Gcal/h

Thermal power plants and boiler houses are operated by RusHydro subsidiaries. Far East Generation Company operates in the Primorsky and Khabarovsk territories, the Amur region, the Jewish Autonomous Region, as well as in the South of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Yakutskenergo and its subsidiaries provide power supply in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). A feature of this region is a large number of remote, hard-to-reach settlements isolated from the power grid, which are supplied by diesel power plants. Magadanenergo PJC provides power supply to the Magadan Region, and Chukotenergo JSC – to the Chukotka Autonomous Region. Sakhalinenergo is responsible for the supply of electric power and heat to the Sakhalin region.

The power industry of the Kamchatka territory is based on the capacities of Kamchatskenergo. Power plants of Mobile Energy are located in the Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Regions.

Over the past 10 years, RusHydro has commissioned new thermal generation facilities in the Far East with total capacity of 933 MW: these are 4 and 5 power units of Yuzhno-Sakhalinskaya CHPP-1, the second stage of the Blagoveshenskaya CHPP, the first stage of the Yakutskaya TPP-2, Sakhalinskaya TPP-2, Vostochnaya TPP, Sovgavanskaya CHPP.

Currently, RusHydro is implementing a large-scale program for the construction, expansion and modernization of six thermal power plants in the Far East. The total electric capacity of these power facilities will be 2 GW, the heating capacity will be more than 2500 Gcal/h.
